RENO, Nev. -- Eleven Reno-area Red Cross volunteers will return to Nevada from the East Coast and their relief efforts following Hurricane Sandy. The Red Cross will welcome home the volunteers Monday morning at 10:30.

Earlier this month, local volunteer Nancy Barrett was honored by Glamour Magazine for her important role in the organization and operation of one of the largest shelters set up for Sandy victims. Barrett received her honor at the magazine's Women of the Year awards on November 12th at Carnegie Hall.

The Northern Nevada American Red Cross chapter covers the part of Nevada from Tonopah north. The main chapter is in Reno with additional offices in Elko, Incline Village and Winnemucca.
