RPD Looking into 'Suspicious Death' of Man Found in Truckee River

Reno, NV— The man pulled from the Truckee River Monday died from his injuries and now police are looking for suspects.

The man pulled from the river around noon Monday has been identified as Gregory Thornton. According to police he was thrown off the Kuenzli bridge into the river by unknown suspects.

Police are now looking for those suspects.

The police are attempting to put together a time line of Thornton’s whereabouts and actions prior to the incident that landed him in the river, and eventually killed him.

The Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance and urging anyone who was in the area and witnessed any part of the incident to contact the Reno Police Department Detective Division at 334-2115, or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
