RENO, NV - The Reno Police Department is warning people of a rash of burglaries in gym parking lots.
A detective with the department releasing information Wednesday that since January of this year there have been twelve car burglaries in both Reno and Sparks.
The crooks are primarily targeting women who commonly leave purses in their vehicles. The suspects watch a victim enter the gym, pull up next the vehicle and break out a window. Sometimes without even getting out of their own car.
The suspects quickly remove items from the car, and drive directly to a local department store and use the cash and credit cards. This all happens before the victim even knows the items were stolen.
The Reno Police Department has provided several surveillance photos, which you can find in the attached document. If you have any information on this crime, please call Secret Witness at 322-4900.
