RENO, NV - An earthquake swarm continued Friday morning, with eight small early-morning tremblers rumbling in the area of Arrow Creek in southwest Reno. There were three more the rest of the day.

The highest magnitude was 2.4, according to USGS.

No damage was reported.

It's the latest in a swarm of quakes that have hit the area. The latest swarm happened last weekend with 21 small quakes centered in the same area, then several more between then and now.

The largest in that sequence was a magnitude 3. Ken Smith of the Nevada Seismology Lab told us these swarms are typical.

"So far the earthquakes have been pretty small. You may remember two years ago the earthquakes up in Mogul and Summerset damaged some buildings and lasted several months. But its not unusual to have a series of little earthquakes like this."

Tom - That has nothing to do with it. Are you and Pietra related?

Pietra - You sound more like a retarded politician than a scientist. Next time, unleash your long-winded / presumptuous ramblings to your liberal friends in California. Nobody cares about Tsunamis in Reno, as we don't live next to the ocean! For those who live next to the ocean, they know the risks. If you are worried about tsunamis, don't live next to the ocean. Worried about forest fires... don't live in the forest. Don't like snow, move to Mexico. The scientific community urges people to use COMMON SENSE! Pietra - after reading your posting, it is clear to me that you attempt to APPEAR smart by using big words & confusing ramblings to compensate for your lack of real smarts!
