Prostitution Bust in Downtown Reno

RENO, NV - There was an undercover prostitution sting in downtown Reno Tuesday night.

Two undercover female officers, posing as prostitutes, walked the streets of downtown to target customers. The operation lasted about five and a half hours. During that time, ten men approached the officers for sex in exchange for money.

All ten men received citations for soliciting prostitution.

According to the Reno Police Department, the Regional Street Enforcement Team will continue to conduct these operations in areas known for prostitution.

Police say some researchers believe the average age of a female introduced into prostitution is between twelve and fourteen years.

The Regional Street Enforcement team says the fight against prostitution begins with aggressive action against exploitation and trafficking.
