RENO, NV - The principal at Moss Elementary School in Sparks is on administrative leave after admitting to embezzling more than $26,000 from a school in Michigan, where he used to work.
Andrew Stansberry was sentenced last week to 30 days in jail and five years probation. A judge there is letting Stansberry serve his time next summer, so as not to interfere with his current job.
The Washoe County School District says Stansberry did not say anything about the accusations against him when he was hired. He wasn't officially charged until after he was already working in Nevada.
He has been placed on administrative leave while the district investigates.
