Prescribed Burns At Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park Through March 2013

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Division of Forestry will start burning slash piles in the North Canyon area east of Carson City beginning Monday, November 26, weather permitting.

According to a press release today, upon completion of the North Canyon project, Forestry crews will conduct pile burning at Sand Harbor, Slaughterhouse Canyon and the Van Sickle Unit at South Lake Tahoe.

The burning will continue through March. The Nevada Division of Forestry implements forest restoration and fuel reduction projects on about 300 acres annually within Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park funded through the Environmental Improvement Program.
