Police Standoff in Reno Neighborhood Ends

RENO, NV - The execution of a Drug Enforcement Administration warrant led to an hours-long police standoff in a Reno neighborhood Thursday night.

It started at the Smart and Final near Shoppers Square around 3:00 p.m.

Police say the suspect got away, escaping to a home just a couple blocks away on Casazza Drive.

Neighbors lined the streets as officers searched for the suspect, and a SWAT team assembled in the area. The team searched the home room by room. Police say eventually, they found the suspect and took him into custody peacefully. Two other people were also detained.

As this is a DEA investigation, few details have been released, but the Washoe County booking report indicates three people are in custody on DEA holds: Hugo Hernandez, Humberto Gostelos-Fuentes and Maria Solis. It's unclear what the specific charges are.
