RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police say they've arrested a 34-year-old man who was seen drilling into the roof of a Moneytree cash advance store and tried to escape by jumping off the building.

Police say they responded to a burglary alarm on Clear Acre Lane about 2 a.m. Sunday and saw a ladder leaning against the back wall of the business.

Officers say the man who was drilling realized police were after him and tried to escape by jumping from the roof.

Police say they arrested Jason Stidam after a brief struggle. They say his injuries were minor.

Authorities say Stidam had brought along drilling tools, saws, a video scope, surveillance cameras, and a police scanner.
