RENO, Nev. -- Police say two men who were speeding away from a convenience store after they stole beer caused an accident that shut down part of a Reno intersection.

It happened Saturday afternoon at Mt. Rose and Plumas. Investigators say two Hispanic male adults took beer from the 7-Eleven on Mt. Rose St., got into a black car and ran a red light at Plumas. They T-boned a Mercedes which was traveling northbound on Plumas. The Mercedes spun around and flipped onto its side. A Humvee, which was stopped at the intersection, also got hit.

After the crash, the two suspects ran away on foot. Investigators say have surveillance video of the men and know who the car they were driving is registered to.

The crash victims suffered only minor injuries.

Part of the intersection was shut down over an hour while police investigated the crash and crews cleared the scene.
