SPARKS, NV - Sparks police have arrested a man accused of indecent exposure and attempted child-luring.

Police say 30-year-old Douglas Jones, who was arrested Wednesday morning, is the suspect in several cases of someone driving his vehicle in the area of Shadow Lane, approaching females and asking them for directions.

April 12, police believe Jones was driving his vehicle and stopped next to a 12-year-old girl while she was in the area of Round Mountain, asking for directions and asking her to get into the vehicle so she could show him. The girl refused to get into the car and police say Jones drove away.

Police say April 17, while Jones was driving his vehicle, he stopped next to a woman in front of her home. They say Jones asked for directions and while the woman was looking in the vehicle talking to Jones, she saw Jones had his penis in his hand and was masturbating. He drove away when another woman approached. The victim was able to get the license plate and description of the suspect vehicle.

Police say they have other information that Jones had asked a third female for directions while driving in the same area but there is no probable cause to believe a crime was committed during this incident.
No one was hurt in any of these cases, police say.

Wednesday morning, June 25, 2014, Jones was placed under surveillance by detectives after he left work. Detectives followed Jones as he drove through the parking lot of Reed High School twice; there was summer activity there involving students. Jones was also seen driving through the parking lot of Smith's supermarket, across the street from Reed, twice. Police say Jones made no contact with anyone during the surveillance and was stopped and arrested after about 40 minutes of Jones driving in the Reed High School area and the surrounding neighborhood.

Jones' vehicle is a 1996 Ford Explorer with Nevada license # MA5ON, green over tan. Pictures are attached to this story.
