UPDATE: Sparks police say Gillespie was found safe Wednesday night in downtown Reno.

SPARKS, NV - The Sparks Police Department is asking for help locating a missing person last believed to be in downtown Reno.

Police say 61-year-old Stephen Gillespie was taken into custody by Sparks police at approximately 1:45AM Wednesday after receiving reports that a possibly intoxicated subject was located on the 500 block of Sparks Blvd. Police transported Gillespie to Westcare, and he was released at 8AM and hasn't been seen by friends or family since.

Police believe Gillespie may have been heading for the Regional Transportation Commission bus station.

Gillespie is white, 5'8 and approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball cap with "Team USA" on the front, a white t-shirt with a US Food Service logo and gray corduroy pants.

Police say Gillespie may appear to have dementia from a previous head injury.
