RENO, Nev. -- Police have arrested 56-year-old Lucky Kneese on a number of charges following an incident with a gun that shut down family movie night at Cold Springs Middle School.

It happened around 8:15pm at an outdoor practice field where about 175 parents and students were watching the movie.

School Police Chief Mike Mieras says a man walked up to the gate area, showed a gun then made a comment about shutting down the event.

Police immediately locked down the area and had students and parents move into a nearby building. Officers then escorted people to their cars in small groups.

School police had help from Reno Police and Washoe County deputies in searching the area. They arrested Kneese on charges of Disturbance of School, Dangerous Weapon on School Grounds, and Drawing a Weapon in a Threatening Manner (also known as "brandishing").

KOLO 8 News Now talked to one woman who was at the show with her grandchildren... she says the crisis was handled well and everyone stayed calm. The movie night is co-sponsored by UNR.
