RENO, NV - October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. There are all sorts of ways people are helping raise money for research and treatment. One has medical and support staff donning pink gloves and dancing.

Laura Robertson's mom died of breast cancer three years ago.

That's the reason for her two tattoos. They pay tribute to her mother, but little did Laura know they would play an even bigger role--to help thousands more women with breast cancer.

“I was totally for it. I was excited,” says Laura.

The video is Quail Surgical and Pain Management Center's entry in the “Pink Glove” dance competition

All staff members from doctors to house cleaning helped make the three minute music video. Materials manager, Tim Hickman, shot and edited the piece which took him a total of 40 hours. Like Laura, his mother too died of breast cancer.

“I think she would be proud of the video, and I'm pretty proud of it too,” says Hickman.

The concept started a couple of years back when the maker of pink exam gloves, Medline, asked for hospitals, surgery centers, and doctors offices to submit videos that include the pink gloves.

The winning video--voted on by Facebook users--will receive $10,000 to the breast cancer charity of choice.

Quail says if they come in first place, the money will go to the local cancer society.
