RENO, NV - If you begin seeing a lot of activity and hearing a lot of noise near the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, don't worry, it's just construction.

As part of a regular maintenance program, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport will begin a project to reconstruct the pavement area from April 18 until April 30, 2014, according to an official with the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

The official says, during these days, construction will begin at 7:00 a.m. and end around 4:00 p.m.

During this time, there will be noise and vibrations from heavy equipment used to demolish the pavement.

Construction will primarily happen on the north/south runway on the east side of the airfield, according to the official.

This will result in the runway being closed from April 14 to August 15, 2014, according to the official. She says the main north/south runway will remain open, along with the crosswind east/west runway.

While officials expect no immediate effect on neighbors, passengers or flights, it is important to note that the public may hear noise and feel vibrations during this time.
