RENO, Nev. (AP) - Sheriff's deputies in western Nevada are investigating a collision between a freight train and a semitrailer truck near the small town of Hazen.

The Churchill County Sheriff's Office says no one was killed or injured in the accident at a railroad crossing at 10:45 a.m. Monday about 40 miles east of Reno.

The Lahontan Valley News reports the 18-wheeler was headed southbound across the tracks when the train struck the back end of the trailer, splitting the trailer in two.

Neither the cab of the truck nor the train appeared to suffer serious damage.

Hazen was the site of Nevada's last lynching in 1905 when a group of men busted a murder suspect out of the local jail and hanged him from a telegraph pole along the railroad.
