RENO, Nev. -- We are learning more about the changes coming to a well-located downtown Reno hotel.

CommRow, on the corner of Virginia and Commercial, shut down its indoor facilities in January. The company's leaders plan to remodel the bottom floor and the guest rooms and reopen later this year as The Whitney Peak Hotel.

General manager Dean Hanson, tells KOLO 8 News Now the bottom floor with get a complete re-model. When it is complete, it will include the front desk, a restaurant, one bar, and "Cargo" - the concert venue.

Upcoming concert dates include "The Red Elvises" on March 1st and Aaron Carter the second week of April. Hanson says more concert announcements will come soon.

In March, construction will begin on the upper levels. The plan is to give the guest rooms makeovers before they re-open this summer.

When the remodel is complete, the Whitney Peak Hotel will continue the venue's no gaming, no smoking policy.

And for the urban climbers who enjoy the climbing wall known as Base Camp, Hanson tells us it will stay open seven days a week throughout construction.
