Red Rock Fire 100% Contained at 5400 Acres

RENO, NV - The Red Rock Fire burning north of Reno is 100% contained as of Thursday morning after burning 5,369 acres. Full containment came a day before the goal of Friday.

The fire started Monday afternoon near Highway 395 in California, and spread across the Nevada border.

Several planes and helicopters worked with ground crews to fight the fire, whose cause hasn't been determined.

Highway 395 near north Red Rock Road was closed briefly Monday.
