Nevada's Insurance Exchange Work in Progress

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada's health insurance exchange won't have all the bells and whistles initially hoped for when it launches Oct. 1.

But state officials said the glitches should be minimal for consumers and the all kinks worked out by early next year.

Officials with the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange say there are some "nice to have" features that won't be available when enrollment begins Oct. 1.

An online virtual assistant is in the works and a function to sort insurance plans based on specific prescriptions covered won't be ready. People will have to search each individual plan separately.

Officials say hope to have those features up and running early next year.
