Nevada's Chris Brown to Be Placed on Medical Disqualification

RENO - Wolf Pack center Chris Brown is going to be placed on medical disqualification, according to head coach David Carter.

Carter told KOLO-TV that it gives him the option to use Brown's scholarship on another player for the 2014-15 season.

Brown, a 6-foot-11, 265 pound junior missed all of last season with a reoccurrence of blood clots in his legs. It's a condition he first battled a few years ago while at Oregon State, caused by poor circulation.

He joined Nevada last season as a transfer, but was never cleared by doctors to play.

This gives the Wolf Pack three scholarships to use for next season. Carter said he plans to use it, but is not completely ruling out Brown suiting up for the team in the future. He also stressed that at this point, there is no timetable for his medical clearance. It's a "wait and see" situation.

Brown will remain on scholarship and will still be able to travel and practice with the team.
