FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a man arrested in northern Arizona for trespassing on railroad tracks has been identified as a fugitive from Nevada.
Coconino County Sheriff's officials said Friday that 28-year-old Matthew Charles Hayward has an outstanding felony warrant out of
Henderson, Nev., for kidnapping, robbery and auto theft.
He's been booked into the county jail pending extradition to Nevada.
Employees from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad contacted authorities about a man walking along tracks about 2 miles east of Flagstaff on Sunday.
Authorities say the man carried no identification and gave them a false name and two different Social Security numbers. One of the
numbers belonged to a woman in North Carolina.
County detectives say the man finally surrendered his fingerprints Thursday and he was identified as Hayward.
