RENO, Nev. - The 11th annual Nevada Women's Expo is showing at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center this weekend. They're partnering with the United Blood Service Community Blood Drive and on Saturday “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the saga, made a special appearance to promote the blood drive.

“I'm here helping to generate blood donations,” Facinelli said. “They were a thousand units short in February and the asked for me to come here as a vampire and ask for blood. I thought it was a great idea; I've never been to Reno before and I thought it would be fun to hang with the fans today.”

“Twilight” fans who donated blood were able to meet the actor.

“What a great idea to have a vampire ask for your blood,” Facinelli said. “I did this event once before and we broke records so I'm hoping to break records today.”

The Expo offers local businesses the chance to reach more than 7,000 women over the course of the weekend. Admission includes health screenings, education, makeovers and massages.
