Elko: Smith Ranch Fire Now 95 Percent Contained

ELKO, NV - The Smith Ranch Fire is now 95 percent contained, according to the Elko Interagency Dispatch Center.

The Smith Ranch Fire, now 2,759 acres, is burning at Smith Creek, just 10 miles northeast of Jiggs, Nevada, according to the Elko Interagency Dispatch Center.

First reports of the fire came in at 2:30 p.m. on July 19.

The fire was caused by lightning, according to the Elko Interagency Dispatch Center.

Mop-op operations by crews continue.
