Fewer Nevadans are out of work according to Nevada Labor Market. Unemployment
Nevada's unemployment rate fell to 11.8 percent from 12.1 percent last month.
The Reno/Sparks area had a 10.8 percent unemployment rate for September, which is down 12.9 percent from a year ago.
Carson City dropped from 11.5 percent in August and 12.8 percent last year to 10.9 percent.
Las Vegas has the highest rate in Nevada, but the rate has fallen from 12.3 percent in August and 14 percent to 11.5 percent.
The national rate is 7.8 percent.
Governor Brian Sandoval says he's encouraged by this month's job growth and the slight decrease in the unemployment rate.
