CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Falsely claiming to be a war hero in an effort to gain something of benefit would be a crime under a bill unanimously approved by the Nevada Senate.
SB365 establishes the crime of stolen valor. It was approved Monday and now goes to the Assembly.
A similar measure died in the 2011 Legislature.
SB365 makes the crime of stolen valor a gross misdemeanor.
