Nevada Casino Win Flat in April

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada casino revenues were flat in April, down a fraction of a percentage point compared with the same month last year.

A report Wednesday by the Gaming Control Board says casinos statewide won $852 million from gamblers in April, a decline of 0.3 percent.

Megaresorts on the Las Vegas Strip saw a 3.2 percent gain in gambling revenues, but most other markets around the state reported declines. Revenues at downtown Las Vegas casinos fell 2.5 percent.

In northern Nevada, clubs in Reno reported a 1.5 percent drop, while Washoe County as a whole was down 2.2 percent.

Gambling revenues at casinos in South Lake Tahoe plunged 42 percent from April 2013.

Taxes collected on the April statewide revenue was $47.9 million, up 1.4 percent from last year.
