RENO, NV - Everyone loves a winner, so it shouldn't be any surprise that the Nevada Athletic Department is seeing an increase in ticket sales for the Wolf Pack football teams home opener on Saturday.
Despite a reduction in price this year for a majority of season tickets, there hadn't been a marked increase in sales, but that could be changing.
Last weekend the Pack surprised the odds makers, and delighted the large group of Nevada fans who made the trip to the bay area, with a big win over Cal.
This weekend the teams faces its second straight BCS conference team when South Florida comes to Mackay Stadium, and the University is pushing the community for support and hopefully a big turnout.
Star Quarterback Cody Fajardo has sent a letter to fans on behalf of the team saying:
"As coach always says, half the team is on the field, and the other half is in the stands. We'll be there and we need you to be there in FULL FORCE this Saturday".
As an added incentive the Athletic Department allowed Fajardo to announce a discount ticket option for the South Florida game that is good until noon Thursday.
In recent seasons the attendance at games has varied greatly depending on the opponent, and with the Wolf Pack already getting some national attention a win this week could put them in Top 25.
