Nevada Air Guard Performing Nighttime Training

RENO, Nev. - A Nevada Air Guard spokesman said Wednesday evening its pilots were in the middle of a regularly scheduled nighttime training.

The spokesman said the reason many in the Reno/Sparks area coldhear and see the planes is due to the pilots flying at a low level. He says the Air Guard's flight hours have been limited to 20 this month thanks to the recent sequestration.

He says flying at a low level helps reduce the amount of time the pilots are in the air.
