WADSWORTH, NV - The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a man killed while riding his bicycle Saturday night.
June 28, 2014, about 10PM, troopers were called to a crash involving a car versus a bicycle on State Route 447, about three miles north of Wadsworth.
Troopers say the investigation indicates a man was driving a sedan and tried to pass a slower car when he hit the bicycle, ridden by 41-year-old Trevor Johns of Nixon. Johns was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries he sustained from the accident.
That stretch of SR 447 is a 65 mph zone woth no roadway lighting or paved shoulders. Troopers say the driver is cooperating with the investigation and has not been charged. They say alcohol does not seem to be a factor.
