NadaDada Brings Out Local Artists of All Types

RENO, Nev. -- It's a one-of-a-kind art show happening all over Reno: the NadaDada Motel art event gets bigger every year. The concept is simple. Get a room and make a show.

The Best Bet Motor Lodge on South Virginia is one of this year's locations. And anyone who rents a room is welcome to put together any kind of show inside.

There are gallery style rooms featuring art, crafts, music and fashion, installation pieces, and plenty of opportunities to interact with the artists. There is even a room that pays tribute to classic motels. Some of the locations also feature outside exhibits and entertainment.

The show started back in 2007 as a way to showcase local artists of all kinds. It has grown into what organizers consider a regional art festival.

"Everyone's welcome to check it out. It's free, and it's fun," said organizer Erik Holland. "It's a grassroots movement, a movement that's starting to spread to places like Missoula and LA and San Francisco. I'm going to do San Francisco myself."

The event runs all weekend long. Check the NadaDada website for times and locations.
