LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Board of Regents has paved the way for construction of a new student center at the University of Nevada, Reno, and two new buildings at Nevada State College in Henderson.
Regents on Friday approved $7 million in funding for design and site preparation costs for the UNR student achievement center.
UNR President Marc Johnson says the $36.2 million project will bring tutoring centers and other services under one roof at the site of the old Getchell Library.
Nevada State College, which opened a decade ago, still has only one building on its main campus.
Regents approved the construction of a 60,000 square-foot nursing and education building and a 40,000 square-foot student activities and administration building. The project's price tag is $61 million.
