NV Energy: Power Restored to Remaining West Reno Customers

UPDATE 7:45pm:
NV Energy reports the power is back on for everyone affected by the outage in the Woodland and 4th Street area of west Reno. Rain complicated efforts to install a new power pole. The time of power restoration was delayed a number of time throughout the day. Power returned to the remaining 70 customers just after 7:30pm.

UPDATE 5:50pm:
NV Energy reports power is back on to most customers except about 70 in the area of Woodland and 4th, where a power pole had to be replaced. Rain complicated efforts to safely install a new pole before the lines and a new transformer could be moved to it. According to the latest estimates power should be restored to the last remaining customers by 9:00 PM.

Customers in the Caughlin Ranch area and 4th and Mayberry area have power back, according to NV Energy, as do customers in the area of Laramie and Steamboat.

UPDATE: NV Energy has restored power to about 4,800 customers in the area of 4th St. and Mayberry Dr.

About 2,400 Customers in the Caughlin Ranch/Old Reno area are still without power. Power in this area went out around 4 a.m., NV Energy has crews on the scene, no word on when power will be restored.

RENO -- NV Energy reports power outages in the Northwest part of Reno. We have also gotten viewer calls and comments about power down in the Southwest area.

So far, there is no estimate as to how many customers are without power, or when everything will be restored. NV Energy crews are working to keep the power on.
