NV Assemblyman Arrested, Accused of Intimidating a Public Officer

RENO, Nev. -- KTNV, ABC 13 Action News in Las Vegas, is reporting Assemblyman Steven Brooks out of North Las Vegas was arrested yesterday after "a report of threats to an elected public official."

The report referred to an alleged threat the 40-year-old Brooks made to harm another state representative. KTNV reports officers took statements from witnesses before making the arrest during a traffic stop Saturday evening at about 5:30.

Brooks was booked on one count of "Intimidating a Public Officer by Threat of Physical Violence."

In an email to KOLO 8 News Now, the executive director of the Assembly Democratic Caucus, Brendan Summers, released the following statement:

"We understand an investigation is currently ongoing and we have no further comment at this time."
