Nevada Army Guard Soldiers Return Home

CARSON CITY, NV - About 40 soldiers with the Nevada Army Guard's C Company, 1/168th General Support Battalion returned to Nevada Sunday at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, following a 10-month deployment to Afghanistan.

The soldiers left Nevada March 31, 2013.

The unit performed medical evacuation missions using Black Hawk helicopters in western Afghanistan.

The unit's eight helicopters had already returned to Nevada.

The unit has now completed five deployment missions since Sept. 11, 2001, including three to Afghanistan.
