RENO, Nev. (AP) - Federal safety regulators will meet in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 11 to determine the probable cause of an Amtrak crash that killed a semi-truck driver and five passengers on a train he slammed into in Nevada last year.

The National Transportation Safety Board announced the new date Thursday after canceling a meeting that had been scheduled for earlier this week due to Hurricane Sandy.

The double-trailer truck skidded the length of a football field before crashing into the westbound train about 70 miles east of Reno in June 2011.

The NTSB said in preliminary findings in September that video and audio from the lead locomotive show the crossing gates were down and the train horn and crossing bell were activated properly. Lawsuits against Amtrak claim otherwise.
