Allen is the media spokesman for NHP, for which he has been a trooper for 23 years, according to a news release. He is also a senior ranking member of the Nevada Air Guard and a volunteer for organizations including the Nevada Humane Society and Special Olympics Nevada.

He says he believes the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office needs to strengthen community outreach and communication with the residents of Washoe County.

Allen has lived in Reno since 1987. He has been married for 21 years to Teresa, and together they have two grown children, Bailey and Sheldon, and three dogs.
