RENO, NV - The goal for NHP is to see “Zero Fatalities” on Sunday.
In the past, enforcement has been focused, in part, on seat belt use, even cell phone use.
But the main focus as always will be impaired drivers behind the wheel.
Troopers say there are tell tale signs they'll be looking for while patrolling the roadways.
”Failing to maintain a travel lane, exceeding the speed limit, going below the speed limit, various things we look for in impaired driving and that's how we get the people who have been drinking off the road,” says Trooper Dan Lopez with Nevada Highway Patrol.
Trooper Lopez says get a designated driver, a hotel room, or a taxi.
All will be cheaper than being cited with $1,000 DUI.
