It's not the biggest day on the sports betting calendar, but the NBA Finals draws a fair amount of action.
This year it's gone to 7 games and there's been an added factor.
"Everybody has an opinion on this series," says Reno's Club Cal Neva Vice President of Operations Ken Barlor. "You either love the Heat or hate the Heat. So you either bet on Le Bron James or against LeBron James. So there's a lot of value in that."
"Ieither way it's been good for the sports books and the fans.
Tonight, as the two teams face off emotions will be high and quite a number of dollars will be riding on the eventual outcome.
And now, all won't stop with the tip off.
The Cal Neva and a number of other sports books, those in the William Hill network now offer in-game betting, the line constantly moving with the score.
"They'll update that line at each commercial break," explains Barlor. "So you can actually bet from that point on what the final outcome is going to be. If the Heat are ahead by 20, you might move that line from minus 6 to 8 or 10 or 12, depending on where the game is at."
So, it's a moving line, changing odds, during the game.
Some day soon, you may be able to place a bet on who will hit the next 3 pointer or commit the next foul.
Barlor says they're not there yet, but it's coming.
