Motorcycle Crash Kills Man on SR 341

VIRGINIA CITY, NV - A man is dead after his motorcycle crashed into a guardrail on State Route 341.

The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014.

Trooper Gibson with the Nevada Highway Patrol says the accident happened on State Route 341 approximately 2 miles north of Virginia City.

Trooper Gibson says the victim, James Edward Cooper, 67, was driving a bronze colored 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on SR 341.

He says Cooper was unable to make the turn on the roadway.

The motorcycle hit the guardrail on the west shoulder, ejecting Cooper from the motorcycle.

Trooper Gibson says Cooper sustained critical injuries.

After being transported to Renown Regional Medical Center by Careflight, Cooper succumbed to his injuries, according to Trooper Gibson.
