SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - Parents of two boys wounded by a classmate at Sparks Middle School say they don't believe the shooter was seeking their sons out.

The statements came at a news conference Wednesday at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Jenifer Davis says she believes her 12-year-old son Mason was coming to the aid of slain math teacher Michael Landsberry when he was shot in the abdomen.

The mother of the second 12-year-old said in a statement that she also doesn't believe her son was an intended target.

A seventh-grade gunman wounded the two boys and killed 45-year-old Landsberry before turning the gun on himself before classes started Monday morning.

Police have not released the name of the boy and haven't offered a motive for the rampage.
