Minor Injuries, Damage In Hidden Valley Home Fire

RENO, NV - A,late afternoon fire in a Hidden Valley home left a woman with minor injuries Tuesday.

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District responded to a call of a woman trapped by fire at a home the 3900 block of St. Andrews Drive.

They found the woman in a smoke filled bedroom on the home's second floor.

She was evacuated by firemen and treated by REMSA personnel at the scene for smoke inhalation.

District Chief Tim Leighton said the cause of the fire was still under investigation. Damage was apparently slight.

Four engines from Truckee Meadows responded, two coming from as far away as Arrowcreek and Sun Valley. The first arrived within a minute and a half, he said.

Leighton said a request for mutual aid was called into the Reno Fire Department but was canceled when it became clear it wasn't needed.
