RENO, NV - Shortly after 2 p.m. today a fire was reported at 225 Martin Street in Reno.
The home was undergoing roof repairs, and it is believed this activity could have contributed to the start of the fire.
The home was occupied at the time of the fire, and the occupants safely evacuated the structure.
Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire on the roof that had also extended into the attic space.
Crews initiated an interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control. There was little to no damage to the interior of the home, but the roof sustained significant damage.
Crews responded within five minutes and had the fire under control within six minutes after arrival.
The owner was relieved that interior possessions had little damage. There were no injuries reported. A final cause is still under investigation.
