Roughly 137,000 models may have cruise control issues.
Apparently the cruise control doesn't immediately shut down when the driver hits the brake.
It can still be turned off by using the controls to shut it down.
The recall is set to begin in September, as the company allocates owners and supplies.
It includes model year 2000 through 2002 Mercedes-Benz M-class SUVs and 2000 through 2004 M-class AMG SUVs.
