Gathering At Sparks Marina Memorializes Murder Victim

SPARKS, NV - September 14, 2006, Holly Quick, a 16-year-old girl, was brutally murdered in her apartment near the Sparks Marina Park.

Her homicide shocked the community and detectives worked around the clock for weeks and solved the crime and arrested the suspect.

Tamir Hamilton is still on death row for the rape and murder of Holly.

May 2, 2009, the Holly Quick Memorial Garden was dedicated during Victims Rights Week. Holly’s family handed out live butterflies to attendees to be released in her honor.

Each year, including Thursday night, people gather at the marina to pay their respects and celebrate Holly's life.
