Some good news today regarding the condition of Wolf Pack football player Tucker Melcher.
His brother, Jackson, posted an update on Twitter, pointing to signs that Melcher is improving.
"His latest CT scan shows the swelling in his brain went down a little, which is helping the paralysis on his left side. He moved his left hand and foot, and had sensation throughout his leg."
Melcher is fighting an undisclosed illness. The Reno Gazette-Journal is reporting it is a brain infection, which developed initially from a sinus infection. The University of Nevada has not given any details, citing the privacy of their student-athletes.
His brother added (in his post) that doctors have him on antibiotics to fight the infection and steroids for the brain swelling.
He is a walk-on wide receiver from Galena high school. He will be a redshirt freshman this season. His father, Bubba Melcher, played tight end at Nevada from 1978-1981.
