Many Shopping on Christmas Eve

RENO -- Even thought it's Christmas Eve, people were still shopping for gifts at the Summit in South Reno. Dan Davis, marketing manager for the Summit, said Monday was even busier than Tuesday -- with crowds not seen since Black Friday. Davis said there were record gift card sales.

"I think with the late Thanksgiving as well a couple winter storms people have not really gotten out to do the shopping," he said.

Owner of Savvy Boutique, Angela Robinson, said she has lots of last minute ideas -- including a necklace with an initial on it, and a bracelet with the longitude and latitude for Incline Village engraved.

"I would say big items are any novelty or specialty goods that you can't find anywhere else," she said.

Many stores at the Summit close at 5 p.m. Target closes tonight at 10 p.m. KOLO called Wal Mart on 7th Street, and was told the store will close at 8 p.m. Meadowood Mall's web page states it closes at 6 p.m.
