SPARKS, NV - Sparks police responded to a report of a stabbing around 8:00 Wednesday night near 16th Street and Gault Way.
When police arrived, they found a male on the ground, bleeding from a wound to his leg. He said he had been returning from a store when he was confronted by a man who demanded all his money.
The victim let his dogs out of his house and told them to attack the man. When the man went to retrieve his dogs, the attacker stabbed him in the leg. A person who saw the attacker leaving the area on foot said he appeared to have been injured by the victim's dogs, as he was seen limping.
The attacker was seen walking east on Gault Way toward Rock Boulevard. He is described as a white man, about 5'8" with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants with a white scarf over his face.
The victim's injury could be life-threatening, leading to emergency surgery.
