RENO, Nev. -- Police are trying to find out how a woman was stabbed in the neck Sunday morning in Reno.
Police say the woman underwent surgery, and remains in the I.C.U.
It happened at about 10am in the 500 block of Mill Street. That's between High and Park Streets just east of downtown Reno.
Police are still investigating but they do tell our KOLO 8 News Now crew at the scene that the woman was found outside by someone who was passing by. That person called 911 and medics rushed the woman to the hospital in critical condition.
It is early in the investigation, and police are trying to find out if the stabbing happened inside one of the nearby buildings or if it happened outside near where the victim was found. They are also trying to get a description of or identify a suspect.
If you have any information, you are asked to call the Reno Police Department.
