Elderly Woman's Jaw Broken in Reno Purse-Snatching; Attacker Sought

RENO, NV - Reno police are looking for the man who robbed and attacked an 83-year-old woman in a Walmart parking lot Thursday.

About 8:30AM, the woman was walking to her car at the Kietzke location. A man ran toward her and grabbed her purse, which was strapped to her wrist. She was knocked to the ground and broke her jaw. In the purse were cash and credit cards.

The man was picked up in a maroon 4-door sedan, similar to a Honda, immediately after the robbery. The camera captured the car speeding off, heading south on McCarran from the Walmart parking lot.

Police say the robber is light-skinned with a thin build. He was wearing a cream colored puffy jacket with a hood lined with gray fur, and dark pants. No description is available for the driver.
