GARDNERVILLE, NV - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has released the names of two people involved in a helicopter crash.

The crash happened the afternoon of August 27, 2014. The pilot, Doyle Holden, told emergency crews he and a friend, Karen Cole, had used the helicopter to fly in the Horsebend area to fish the Carson River. After fishing, they lifted off the ground and experienced a malfunction and crash-landed. Holden and Cole sustained minor injuries, according to the Sheriff's Office, and contacted another pilot who flew in and transported them out of the area.

The National Safety and Transportation Board are investigating.
